Sung Min Lee

About Myself

My name is Sung Min (or you may call me John). I am completing my doctoral program in Mathematics under Nathan Jones at the University of Illinois at Chicago in August 2024. Additionally, I have been appointed as an Assistant Professor at Dakota State University starting in the Fall of 2024.

My research interests lie in Arithmetic Geometry; more specifically, I work on problems related to Galois Representations, Division Fields of Elliptic Curves, and the Distribution of Primes satisfying certain arithmetic or geometric properties associated with an elliptic curve or a family of elliptic curves.

I am also interested in Math Communication. I have been employing several tools to demonstrate how entertaining learning mathematics can be. Check the Math Communication tab to read more details!

My hobby is learning new languages. If you see me at a conference or a seminar, feel free to teach me some greetings and phrases in your language.
